Water distribution networks – which are mostly underground - are the world's largest engineering infrastructures (hundreds of millions of km) that do not receive a direct periodic inspection. Partial or no solutions exist to the wide spectrum of challenges facing water network operators: leaks, faulty welds, corrosion, blockage, pirate connections and unmapped (GIS) network segments.
The Solution - iPIPE’s innovative solution is a mini wireless device (“submarine”) capable of maneuvering inside active pressurized water distribution networks while they are in use, inspecting and providing precise information regarding pipe and network conditions, system integrity, and location.
"iPIPE Ltd." is a start-up company that is developing a revolutionary system that provides direct inspection and asset management capability of potable water pressurized pipe networks while the pipe is still active. iPIPE will provide completely effective solutions for identifying and locating; leaks, faulty welds, corrosion, blockages, unauthorized connections, and unmapped network segments.
iPIPE was funded by the Ministry of Energy of Israel. The company achieved a strategic relationship with major water companies in Israel “Hagihon”, “Meniv Rishon” and “Mai Hertzelia”. .
MODA_01 is an autonomous sensor carrying platform that will travel substantial distances, navigate independently and is capable of communicating with an operator. The core capabilities are:
1. Navigation – device locating and response to obstacles in pressurized water networks.
2. Inspection – implement visual, noise, pressure, temp, flow and other sensing devices.
3. Communication – signals transfer in water pipes.
Dr. Menashe Rajuan, Ph.D. – CEO and Founder. A technology entrepreneur with strong physics, mathematics, chemistry, and software background. Dr. Rajuan has over 30 years of experience in research and development and senior management positions.
Dr. Shimon Mizrahi, Ph.D. - an expert in the field of ultra-low power-operated systems, 3D imaging and image fusion techniques. Dr. Mizrahi holds many patents and patent applications. Dr. Mizrahi has served in a variety of development and management positions for over two decades.
Professor Daniel Weise - a leading expert in the field of robotics, he was former Head of the Robotics Institute at the Technion and is a member in the Israel Academy of Science.
Engineer Yitzhak Alony – has more than 30 years of expertise in the mechanical engineering industry.
